Jonathan Reus - imac music

Jonathan Reus makes performable installations and electronic music that blends machine aesthetics with free improvisation. Most of his work involves custom and DIY engineering work drawing on his knowledge of computer science, mathematics, and electronics.

His music and performance work deals with techno-cultural topics such as technological hype cycles, planned obsolescence, and the problem of ewaste. In 2009 he received a Fulbright fellowship to conduct research on computationally-mediated live music at the Studio for Electro-Instrumental Music in Amsterdam, and since then has been active as an artist, teacher, and performer in Europe and abroad.
